Password Manager and Novell login

1. People have to go to password manager and change their Novell and 49er (and Outlook) passwords if they want to go to their new email.

2. People who just want to get into the library remotely DO NOT have to go to password manager – the old Novell password(whatever they were using when they left campus) will still work until they change it.  If people call, they can omit dealing with Password Manager-they should just go to the library’s webpage and log in for remote access as usual using the old Novell password.

When people do go to Password Manager and change their passwords, it changes their password to 49er Express and Novell at the same time.  Passwords for both systems will then be the same.

Biology 2120 Lab Assignment

Re:   Biology 2120 Lab Assignment  Here is Dr. Wolfe’s suggestion:These students are conducting an experiment using alkaline phosphatase enzyme and PNPP, para-nitrophenyl phosphate.  The enzyme hydrolyzes the bond between the phosphate group attached to the phenyl group causing a change in color of the solution from clear to yellow.  They are using a Spectronic-20 spectrophotometer. I suspect you could Google either the enzyme name or the substrate.  You might get something useful there.  Thanks for your note.  I hope this helps.

The subject specialist recommends the following strategies:  Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (Natural Science Database)  (This would include:  “Medline”)

Searches using the following keywords:  KW=  Alkaline phosphatase:  Analysis

KW=  Alkaline phosphatase:  Metabolism                        Or trying:KW=(alkaline phosphatase) and KW=(PNPP or (para-nitrophenyl phosphate))

Also: QP 601 …..     Enzyme handbooks [both on the 6th Floor and in Ground Floor Compact Shelving] will give data regarding the structures and mechanisms of action of various groups of enzymes

APSA style guide

Students in “Research Methods in Political Science” have been asked to use the American Political Science Association style when writing their paper.   Frada has placed an example for them to use.   There is also a link to APSA style information from the University of Wisconsin off Judith’s Citation & Style Guides link under Electronic Resources, then listed under Online Reference.
